I never do this anymore, but for what it's worth, this blog is psuedo-weird. Those posts below...odd. That kid who wrote them...odd. Yes, now you're going to read them. Let them not be a testament to my true Sam-ness; I'm not that weird.

Obsession
    Man's made for it, driven by it, yearns to have it, is a match divinely ordained with it. But it's your choice: which kind, thing, type, of obsession?   It's essentially synonymous with that "God-shaped vacuum"; it's man's destiny, but one along side of which man has option B: that is, rejection. You've gotta have at least one. To be lacking would be to abandon the joys, wellspring of passion, deeply-rooted energizing motivation that come from that object at which one may throw life to the wind, cares to God, and zealous gusto to the task. It carries you through anything, and you see it in everything. In terms of nominees to take the honor, David scores:

    Please, the Christian nameplate lacks this breed; pretty please, become a member, be radically, desperately obsessed with God, up to the flippin' gills, discombobulated-ly in love with everything Jesus Christ. Think Him, breath Him, dream Him, speak Him, praise Him, spread Him, 24/7/365, 366 for a leap year. And lest I have this remission: be sure, I'm not a showcase of Godly obsession, by any stretch of the imagination. Nonetheless, with consecutive watersheds over last weekend, Ted Dekker's Obsession and the unearthing of my life verse (the same Gospel vers libre as above), my reality (by God's grace in my oh-so-undeserving life) has taken a radical turn to God's version of reality, aka, the right kind, obsession with Him.

And it's only what's expected of us.

With that unvieling, I shall therefore hoist out the ol' soapbox in lieu of a four-paragraph essay:

1. Iran must be dealt with, most likely militarily
2. The U.S. must safeguard our good allies the Israelis
3. The Dems should be tried for war crimes
4. So should the majority of the media
5. The U.S. should legislate God's version of morality, which happens to be the only genuine form
6. Let the Patriot Act rock on
7. The Feds should never have stepped foot within education
8. Creationism should be taught in the classrooms
9. Abortion and sodomy should be outlawed
10. The First Amendment is horrendously abused in modern times
11. Jeff Gordon is the greatest driver in world history
12. NASCAR is the greatest sport in mankind's remembrance
13. I can't stand Greenday, Switchfoot, Munich, Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee, or Steven Spielberg

I do believe that should cover the bases for this current moment of existence; with that, this dispensational premillenialist shall depart. Stay tuned...

In regards to my previous question concerning Christian eschatology, a few individuals differed (no law against objections, of course) on both dispensationalsim and premillenialism (and as you can see from my header, I'm more specifically a dispensational premillenialist). For those who wanted to rehash this one again, why or why not dispensationalism? Why or why not premillenialism? That said, I shall now proceed to stretch this blog's rules a tad (my rules concerning issues-only posts are a little maleable), and do another one of these blog-tag thingamabobs...

Six Things About Me That You Could Care Less About
1. I had really curly hair as a little kid
2. I've been to two NASCAR Nextel Cup Series races (or is that three?) and two (or three?) NASCAR Busch Series Races
3. I split my head open as a little kid (a few stitches were required); however, for the longest time, I envisioned this injury as my head being cleaved in two, exposing my brain
4. I used to figure skate
5. I was baptized in a hotel swimming pool
6. When I was six or so, I ran full-blast into a glass door (it was open...or maybe not...). It was somewhat of a shock.

NASCAR
Ah, yes, the greatest sport with the greatest star (see above) of all time; nothing like seeing twenty cars in a 200 MPH parking-lot formation (which I've seen live, be still my heart). All that to say, after a botched call-in to the Laura Ingraham Show on NASCAR and its (now defunct) redneck heritage, I thought I'd open up my phone lines on the topic: what's your take on NASCAR? Any fellow NASCAR compatriots out there? It is, after all, the number two sport in the U.S. of A., numero uno in attendance, second only to the NFL in ratings, etc. Stay tuned...

HILLARY SAYS HOUSE RUN LIKE 'PLANTATION'... (From the Drudge Report) In a below-the-belt uppercut across the GOP's collective jowls, our good NY Senator I'm-Getting-Free-Advertising-On-ABC's-Commander-In-Chief Clinton went historically retrospect, christening the right-wing element of the House a "plantation." Maybe "gulag" would have represented her sentiments more accurately. Folks, white and black aren't this lady's true colors; hers are of a shade much darker than any one sampling from the color spectrum.

Your take on Sen. Clinton's verbal creativity? Stay tuned...
